Sturgeon Trail - A partnership for developing and financing the trail was formed in early 2001 by the Mukwa Wildlife Partnership. Initially, 1600 feet of shoreline was rip-rapped to create more conducive sturgeon spawning habitat and to create the base for part of the half mile blacktop trail. The rip-rap restored one of the best sturgeon spawning areas on the Wolf River. Many people come to watch the Sturgeon run along this portion of the river in the spring. Some of the projects along the trail include accessible fishing platforms, a boardwalk into a marshy area, a picnic shelter, and several interpretive signs. There are several garbage cans and benches along the trail also. Located west of New London on the north side of County Highway X. The trail is on the opposite side of County X from the Mukwa Wildlife Area. Watch for signs indicating parking areas.
